NCOA...

    Would you like to reduce undeliverable mail? How about updating your mailing list electronically instead of manually? Of course, to save time and money.

    Over 40 million Americans change addresses annually, which creates formidable obstacles in maintaining a high-quality mailing list. There is a necessity to track these movers. Direct Mail Center offers National Change Of Address (NCOA) program, a post office licensed product that identifies and corrects changes of address. This gets processed before your mail-pieces enter into the mail stream.

    What are the benefits?

      Reduces undeliverable mail by providing the most current address information for matches made to the NCOA file;
      Prevents duplicate mail pieces or re-mailings because the address correction is made prior to mailing;
      Reduces time and money spent on manual data entering and list updating;
      Certifies your mailing list for postal automation compatibility;
      Provides faster product/service marketing through accurate mail delivery.

    How does NCOA works?

      First, your addresses are standardized to conform to post office requirements. Then, an attempt is made to match the address against the post office NCOA file, which contains approximately 115 million records or 36 months of permanent address changes. Once an exact match is made, the program will automatically replace the old address with the new information. Direct Mail Center will export the updated file into a data format that work best for your application via email or diskette.
      The usual turnaround time for the update is 3-5 working days. 24-Hour rush service is also available.

    For further information, the Post Office connection gives you a link to more NCOA details. Or simply contact your Direct Mail Center Account Manager (staff) at 415-252-1600 or by e-mail.
