    The value of a mailing follows the percentages 60/30/10; that’s 60% for the mailing list, 30% for the product (or cause) and 10% for the way it is presented. As you see, the list selection is the most important item for the success of a direct mail campaign. And you know there are millions of mailing lists available. Some mailings may require only a Resident file covering every resident in a targeted area. And others may need sophisticated list research to pull good returns. At Direct Mail Center, we will help you the best way to find the most targeted lists for your needs.

    Please do not forget the motto of a successful direct marketer: TESTING, TESTING AND TESTING.
    Resident/Occupant List: available anywhere in the USA. It qualifies for absolute minimum postage at the Carrier Route Saturation/Walk Sequence rate. It is updated monthly from post office information. Rural Routes and Business Routes are also available in Western states. Direct Mail Center will help you map the desired area with sophisticated carrier route maps.
    Basic Consumer List: imagine a Resident List with actual name instead of "resident", this list is build by cross matching the Resident List with a national database of 95 million U.S. households. This list will be qualified for WS/saturation postage rate, and will have mostly name with some "Resident" records. Some selects are available: Household Income, Age, Sex.
    Demographic List: based on geographic information with plenty of selects, this list will qualify for Carrier Route rates (no saturation). Call your Account Manager for more information.
    Business List: sort by SIC, employee counts, yearly sales, etc., this list is compiled from yellow pages data and updated with telemarketing information. It is a great start-up list for a business to business campaign.
    Donor List: many non-profit organizations share their lists and this may be your opportunity to benefit from it.
    Subscriber List: to target better your needs, please contact your Account Manager.
    Buyer List: compiled mostly from catalogers. To target better your needs, please contact your Account Manager.

    Mailing lists are rented for one time use. Some lists managers allow their lists to be purchased for one year unlimited use (taxable). Donor, Subscriber and Buyer list managers may require a sample mailer prior to list rental approval. Turn around time is usually 2-3 days unless rental approval is required when it will be about 1 week. Lists are supplied on cheshire, pressure sensitive, piggy-back labels, or electronically via e-mail. Rented lists cannot be supplied electronically to client.
